Frequently Asked Questions
These are great questions to ask when evaluating a pole dance program.

Today it is not enough to just teach pole dance classes. Pole Position Fitness has the highest customer retention in the industry. The way that we are able to do this is because we have developed a program, not just teach pole dance classes. Below are questions that we are asked by people wondering if our instructor training program is right for them. If you do not feel that the question you need answered is here feel free to email us at funfit@tmail.com.

1. Who developed this program and what are their qualifications?
     * The PPF Pole Dancing for Fitness Program was developed by the leaders in the industry. Under the supervision of Sharon Polsky (a 16 year veteran affiliated with AFAA, ACE, Pilates Method, Spinning, ACSM and IDEA) this program was developed based on the exercise recommendations and guidelines of the American College of Sports Medicine. Using numerous consultants including top fitness professionals, medical professionals and traditional teaching professionals we were able to develop an extremely comprehensive program.

2. Who is teaching the instructor training course and what are their qualifications?
     * All of our instructor trainings are taught by the best in the industry. Because our programs offer both AFAA and ACE continuing education credits we must use individuals certified by both of these organizations. They passed both a written and practical exam including intense anatomy and physiology, practical application, group fitness teaching skills, and choreography with music. In addition all of our master trainers have an extensive background in presenting programs like Spinning, Kickboxing, Pilates and Pole Dancing.

3. How on earth can I learn everything I need to in only an 8 hour course?
     * Please look at this as a program and not a course. Yes we present the program in 8 hours, but there is some homework that you will want to do once you leave. You will want to practice what we are teaching you. We do have 4 hour courses that support our 8 hour  primary workshop for those individuals that need additional training. But remember there are a lot of people out there with lots of experiences. If somebody is a Certified Stott Pilates instructor then they may only need the initial 8 hour course, but if somebody has never taught anything before they may need some support workshops. We offer the only instructor training program that you can customize for your needs and not be forced to sit through non-essential courses.

4. If I only participate in the 8 hour course how can you determine that I am a good instructor or not?
     * Each person that is granted a pole position certificate must complete a written and a practical exam. There are a lot of people that participate in this course and we think that they will make fabulous instructors, but once we receive their written or their practical exams they are incapable of teaching right away and need more help. it is essential to our reputation and the studios that send their instructors to us that we have people participate in a written and a practical exam to ensure that they are good instructors. In the event that somebody does not pass their exams the first time we will provide them with support through our mentoring program to help them become a great instructor and pass their exams.

5. Certificate, what does that mean?
     * This is one of the most important questions that we are presented with. There are organizations out there that offer instructor training courses and give a certificate at the end of the course to everybody regardless if they learned the material or not. We are the only Pole Dancing for Fitness instructor certification course that requires both a written and a practical exam. No this is not the easiest program out there, but facilities that hire our certified instructors know that they are qualified. So, our certificate has value behind it.

6. $335.00 for an instructor certification how is this possible when other organizations are charging $3,000?
     * $335.00 for an 8 hour course is the industry standard. No I don't mean the pole dancing industry I mean the fitness industry. Ask yourself this, "What is the Pole Dancing industry". When you fill out a census form and they ask you what industry you work in the options can be Fitness or Dance, but you probably would not see an option for Pole Dancing or Pole Fitness. Pole Dancing in itself is not an industry. The current Pole Dancing industry is a made up industry that governs only itself. Because it governs itself it is allowed to create instructor training programs that range from $1500 to $3000. in the Fitness industry or the Dance industry their would be much more criticism of this pricing. So the old adage "you get what you pay for" does not always hold true. To confirm this please refer to the following websites www.afaa.com, www.acefitness.com, and www.spinning.com. These are the leaders in the industry and their instructor certifications range from $275.00 to $550.00. We have made a conscious decision to  affiliate ourselves with the fitness industry because that is what we are. We have developed the only Pole Dancing for Fitness program based on ACSM guidelines for safe and effective fitness, and we have priced our programs accordingly.

7. Why do I need to take the exam to get my certificate?

* The only way that we know that you are a competent instructor is if we require both a written and practical exam. Without these this would not be a certification it would just be a workshop.

8. If I don't feel ready do I have to take my exams in 30 days?
     *
No, you just can't take your exams prior to 30 days. After 30 days you can wait until you feel comfortable.

9. After passing my exams what will PPF do to help me find a job teaching?
     * We have an instructor placement program. Typically instructors carrying our certifications can expect to receive $10 per person per class. Not only do we have affiliate locations all over the country, but studios call us daily looking for instructors in their area. There are a lot of instructors in the industry, but there is currently a shortage of qualified instructors. PPF is known as being the most comprehensive pole dancing for fitness program in the U.S. and fitness facilities are in constant communication with us looking for instructors.
